That Special Kind of Saturday

I have to say that I had one of the best Saturdays I’ve had in a while.  Two of my kiddos, Tyler and Hana, came in from Pflugerville, TX for the weekend and we decided to treat ourselves to a fun day and traveled to Kemah, TX…The Kemah Boardwalk.

I absolutely LOVE Kemah Boardwalk!  It just always gives me that vacation destination kind of feeling and this particular Saturday was no different.  We finally had a nice Saturday to be outdoors and Kemah Boardwalk just seemed like the perfect place to go to enjoy it.  This rather magical place has a way of refreshing and rejuvenating me, bringing out my playful side and, quite honestly, sparks a wish for romance any time I’ve visited.

There was an excitement in the air that just captivated me today.  All three of us agreed we just had to ride a couple of the rides and decided we’d try the Ferris Wheel, or as they call it, the Century Wheel, and then The Tower.  I really hate to admit this, but I wasn’t too sure about the “Wheel”…height and just that feeling you can get on the downside of the thing...  But I decided to “brave” it and absolutely loved every minute of it. The view was amazing, looking out over the water and all the activity below, and getting to experience this with Tyler and Hana was perfect.  What fun!

I mentioned that Kemah Boardwalk seems to spark a wish for romance any time I’ve visited…let me explain.  I have such a love for music, (they always have great bands playing), a love for palm trees (especially ones seeming to sway with the rhythm of the music) and a love for a beautiful view out over the water and Kemah offers them all.  Then add the choice of incredible restaurants, shops, such a wonderful mix of people strolling around, that cool breeze coming off the water and, well, just the overall excitement, and it all just captures my heart every time.

I can’t wait to go back…Kemah Boardwalk…here I come…
